I couldn’t help myself! 🌚🪐🌳🪾🌞This piece isn’t even finished yet and I already had it out in the bush taking photos. Nature has been such a huge part of this chapter for me… the gum trees, the textures, the deep earthy tones of the soil. All of it has been finding its way into this painting.

It’s almost there, just a few more touches to go.
And who knows… it might even make its way onto my website soon 🤎

A Heartfelt New Beginning 🖼️ My First Originals in Two Years ✨

After two years without releasing any new originals, today I get to share something deeply personal, a collection of 20 new paper artworks, each one created in the small, precious pockets of time I’ve found while raising my little Marigold.

Stepping back into my studio hasn’t looked the same as it once did. My days are shorter, quieter, sometimes interrupted by tiny footsteps… but somehow, the work has become richer. More intentional. More alive. These moments of creating — even the brief ones — have felt like reconnecting with a part of myself I wasn’t sure I’d find again.

This new collection is full of colour, texture, movement and energy, but it also carries the quiet truth of this season of life: the joy, the shift in identity, the slow rebuilding of a creative rhythm. Every piece holds a little fragment of that transformation.

To honour this new chapter and what it took to arrive here, I’ve released these originals at a very special price — a gesture of gratitude for the support that’s carried me through, and a celebration of beginning again.

After two years without releasing any new originals, today I get to share something deeply personal, a collection of 20 new paper artworks, each one created in the small, precious pockets of time I’ve found while raising my little Marigold.

Stepping back into my studio hasn’t looked the same as it once did. My days are shorter, quieter, sometimes interrupted by tiny footsteps… but somehow, the work has become richer. More intentional. Hey, Hello, Hi! Gosh, it has been a while hasn’t it?! I am still here! A LOT has happened though. Since I was pregnant with my beautiful daughter Marigold, my art journey took a backseat. My pregnancy with her was extremely difficult and resulted in a few hospital stays and ultimately her coming into this world at 7 months! She is now a thriving 21 month old but not without her challenges. Importantly, she is such a happy, healthy toddler but since she was about 6 months old we have faced major sleep issues and this is including day sleep. Marigold was a cat napper (crap napper!) and this meant I had ZERO time to get into the studio as I was constantly up with her. We have had many sleep consultants help us and have been looking into underlying causes more deeply now. There were a few months where things started to look really good and I was thrilled to be thinking I might get back into the studio to paint whilst she slept for 2+ hours! (Woooo!) but alas, this has now changed for the worse again. Anyway! Amongst all of this we have moved house THREE times. Yep, three. That all said, I am happy to say that I will be working on a new studio space and I am so excited to HOPEFULLY start painting again in spring, once it’s up and running. Also, hopefully by then everything we are working on with Marigold will be a little more settled.. (wishing thinking?!) we’ll see. For now, I will try be more present on here and keep you all up to date. Big love 🧡🧡

One year ago today 🥹 I’d taken photos of positive pregnancy tests before, so when I thought it might be a possibility I was pregnant for the fourth time, I didn’t want to get my hopes up. The day before, I decided to buy a cheap Coles test (the top one pictured) because I had probably spent hundreds of dollars on those clear blue digital tests in the past and for the first time ever, I thought…what’s the point! Get a cheap test, it’ll be negative. Two lines… but were they really two lines? I was convinced it was a dodgy test so at 7am, as I was getting ready for work, I made Nick run out and get two other tests and there it was.. pregnant! I was scared, overwhelmed, euphoric, numb, excited, triggered. Nick said “I have a good feeling about this time” it was those words that kept me going throughout what was an extremely scary but also utterly beautiful pregnancy. Today, I feel like the luckiest girl alive 🧡 I love you Marigold! What a wonderful thing it is to be your mum x

One year ago today 🥹 I’d taken photos of positive pregnancy tests before, so when I thought it might be a possibility I was pregnant for the fourth time, I didn’t want to get my hopes up. The day before, I decided to buy a cheap Coles test (the top one pictured) because I had probably spent hundreds of dollars on those clear blue digital tests in the past and for the first time ever, I thought…what’s the point! Get a cheap test, it’ll be negative. Two lines… but were they really two lines? I was convinced it was a dodgy test so at 7am, as I was getting ready for work, I made Nick run out and get two other tests and there it was.. pregnant! I was scared, overwhelmed, euphoric, numb, excited, triggered. Nick said “I have a good feeling about this time” it was those words that kept me going throughout what was an extremely scary but also utterly beautiful pregnancy. Today, I feel like the luckiest girl alive 🧡 I love you Marigold! What a wonderful thing it is to be your mum x

Welcome to the world our beautiful Marigold June van Riet 💛🌼🌞 Am I even posting this? Is this real? 🥹 On Saturday at 12:13am after yet another scary placenta previa bleed and what was deemed to be looking like another placenta abruption our beautiful obstetrician made the call that it was going to be safer to get this little poppet out into the world at 32 weeks 💕 Even though it was an emergency c-section the birth felt incredibly calm and how it was always meant to be (Nick and I don’t do boring!) Mel has been with us on this journey for years now. She did my D&C with our first loss, delivered our son Fletcher, did my surgery for our ectopic pregnancy and now, to close this unbelievable ride, she’s delivered our precious daughter, Goldie ✨ Now begins a journey of having a NICU baby. She’s absolutely thriving with a few scary set backs but she’s strong like her mummy and daddy. She has a serious head of hair and the cutest chubby chops. We are utterly obsessed with her! Thank you to everyone for their support over the years and for the outpouring of love we’ve received since she entered the world.
